The American Dream in the 21st Century

For my final project as an undergraduate photojournalism student, I created a photo essay on the redefinition of "The American Dream" that correlates with today's wider acceptance of a diverse array of identities. Building off of research conducted by Professor Charisse L'Pree, I interviewed 11 people within the greater Syracuse community about their American Dream, and I photographed portraits of each person and an object or memento that they felt represented or connected to their American Dream. After conducting research, meeting with each person and analyzing the interviews, I curated a functional website with Adobe XD to exhibit the project.
