Back in April, @workingeastbay and @raisetheroofconcord held a door-knocking campaign to educate Concord residents on the new rent stabilization and just cause ordinance. The volunteers, led by tenant organizer Betty Gabaldon, explained to tenants that the Concord City Council recently voted to cap rent increases at 3% per year and to protect just cause for tenants facing eviction, but that many landlords and real estate industry groups are trying to block and defeat the ordinance.
